I’ve always loved photographing late-November weddings. The warmth inside feels stronger, the candlelight softer, and every little moment seems to settle more gently into the day.
Rebecca & Chris celebrated their wedding at Woodlands Hotel Leeds surrounded by deep winter colours, red rose bouquets, and rich red bridesmaids dresses that brought warmth and colour to the late-winter wedding.
From the moment I arrived, the whole day felt relaxed and welcoming. Their ceremony was filled with happiness throughout, alongside a few quieter emotional moments too — the kind that naturally appear between smiles, glances, and the closeness of family and friends gathered together inside the warm atmosphere of Woodlands Hotel near Leeds.
As the ceremony ended, confetti bubbles drifted through the cold November air while everyone gathered outside the venue. We stepped briefly into the gardens for a few relaxed couple photographs and a full group photograph before the cold slowly encouraged everybody back inside again.
The warmth indoors suited the rest of the day perfectly. Rebecca & Chris had chosen a wonderfully intimate idea for their wedding breakfast table too — just two chairs for themselves, with space for family and friends to come and sit beside them throughout the meal, conversations, and speeches.
A Warm and Relaxed Winter Wedding Reception
As evening arrived, the soft low light around the venue gave the whole wedding a calm winter atmosphere that I loved photographing. Guests were also treated to caricatures from Caricaturist Ray Allen , whose drawings brought so much laughter throughout the reception and gave everyone a wonderfully personal little keepsake to take home from the day.
Warm food, thoughtful gifts, speeches, fireworks disappearing softly into the misty November skies, and the first dance later in the evening all helped bring together a wedding that felt intimate, welcoming, and full of genuine moments from beginning to end.
