Vicky & Lee’s Magical May Wedding at Allerton Castle near Leeds
Vicky and Lee got ready at Allerton Castle on a soft May morning. It began quietly — a few smiles, some laughter, the familiar gentle chaos of everyone arriving.
The rooms looked beautiful, full of character and charm, as the little moments started to unfold. A glimpse into the wedding breakfast room, a pause by the mirror, makeup bags scattered — it all felt calm, just as it should.
Just outside Leeds, in one of Yorkshire’s most striking venues, it was the beginning of something truly special.
Morning Light, Grand Interiors, and a Quiet Arrival at Allerton Castle
The day began slowly, with soft sunshine pouring through the windows of Allerton Castle — full of atmosphere from the start. Inside, rich red carpets and soft gold touches caught the light, and the dark wooden galleries above gave everything a sense of quiet drama.
Vicky arrived with her entourage, smiling as she stepped through the grand front doors. Before heading up to the bridal suite, she paused for a quick peek into the wedding breakfast room — a quiet, excited moment before the day truly got going.
Upstairs, the usual gentle chaos of wedding prep was underway. Hair rollers, makeup brushes, bouquets still in their wraps. The suite itself — with its mix of red and gold, and light bouncing off the mirrors — felt warm and full of life. It was a lovely, calm start to the day, with a few tender moments between Vicky and her family as everything began to come together.
Games, Gatherings, and a Quiet Moment Before the Dress
While things were still peaceful upstairs, the snooker room below came to life. Lee and his groomsmen gathered there — cue in hand, joking and chatting beneath the dark wood panels and old framed photos. It was a great contrast to the calm of the bridal suite — full of laughter, light, and the relaxed chaos of friends before the ceremony.
Back upstairs, I took a quiet moment to photograph Vicky’s dress — carefully laid across the chaise, captured in both rich colour and timeless black and white. The light fell perfectly through the tall windows, catching soft details in the lace and fabric.
One of my favourite images from the morning is of the bridesmaids helping each other with shoes — a moment of closeness and calm. And then, Vicky stepped into her dress, looking radiant in the soft gold light of the suite. Everything was ready.
