Wedding of Gemma & Dave at Leeds Civic Hall on a Beautifully Sunny day in September

2 days later – onto the Lost & Found Leeds Club

My goodness the weather was on their side – the deepest blue skies all day – not too hot – just perfectly perfect! I arrived very early as Leeds City Centre can be chaos. I parked a little way out and enjoyed a walk in the sunshine, arriving about 1 hour earlier than asked. I was very used to photographing weddings at the Leeds Town Hall. Civic Hall Leeds is so much better! A beautifully naturally lit ceremony room and stunning interiors, though less freedom top roam when compared to Leeds Town Hall. Nonetheless it was a beautiful ceremony full of smiles and little moments I captured. And I captured a few emotional moments with respect of course.

The couple had originally planned to walk over to the little bar to sit for a couple of drinks. All the other guests had since left for the Lost & Found Leeds Club… The couple said to me, ‘there’s not much time…’ I convinced them to keep to their plans and caught a lovely couple of photos – one of which made the cover of their album. Before this of course we had a little fun taking some couple shouts in the sunshine. We then jumped in a taxi and made our way to the guests awaiting us at the Leeds Club. You can see how I love my work even in this small selection of photos. Arriving at the Leeds Club I caught Gemma laughing with her sister in law – an amazing couple of shots!

Once inside a few family groups and everyone on the stairs too – no miniature faces at the back I’ve seen when photographers use wide angle lenses – composition requires the right lenses too! I prefer prime lenses – would you believe I used just a 50mm lens all day. 50mm lenses produce a view similar to your eyes – so the images look real in than sense.

So, 2 days later, Gemma & Danny’s Evening Wedding Reception, we gathered again with a few more friends at the Lost & Found Leeds Club. In darkness I photographed every moment using the available light and captured the ambience and fun perfectly. You can see these amazing photos in my next BlogPost.
