A Historic Yorkshire Wedding Venue Filled with Light and Heart

Hoyle Court in Baildon is a Yorkshire wedding venue full of character and quiet charm. Built for the Ambler family between 1910 and 1912, this Edwardian Baroque home still holds its original beauty. Now a Masonic Lodge, it’s tucked in West Yorkshire, just a short hop from Leeds.

I’ve photographed a few beautiful weddings here over the years, and Hoyle Court always offers something special — soft light, calm rooms, and gardens that glow at golden hour. Dani & Scott’s spring wedding felt unhurried, emotional, and full of joy. From sparklers to Chinese lanterns, their celebration was warm, relaxed, and beautifully real.

A cold April day — but full of warmth and anticipation.

The morning began at home, in the attic room filled with natural light.
Laughter, emotion, and even a practice walk from Dani —
a mix of nerves and excitement.

Soon she made her way to Hoyle Court,
where Scott was waiting and the day truly began.

The Groom — The Ceremony — The Emotion

When I arrived at Hoyle Court, everyone was ready and waiting.

As Dani walked in with her dad,
you could see every emotion cross her face —
laughter, tears, and pure overwhelm.

That moment down the aisle felt huge.

Only after the first kiss did she seem to breathe again.
A heartfelt ceremony from start to finish.

After the vows came those sweet, simple moments —
signing the register, sharing grins,
and pausing between ceremony and celebration.

Guests took their own snapshots too —
and I quietly documented it all.

Their walk out into the spring air felt like a release —
a moment of “we did it” joy.

It’s not hard to photograph happy people at weddings.
Dani & Scott’s day was all smiles — pure joy.

We gathered everyone for one big group photo
before they escaped in the Morris Minor
to a rocky spot they love for relaxed portraits.

Then back to Hoyle Court for a few more family groups
in the spring sunshine.

A Wedding Breakfast at Hoyle Court

Once everyone was seated, I took the bride’s bouquet outside —
a few quiet frames on the stone steps in soft April contrast.

Speeches came after food (which I always prefer).
You can feel the nerves gather — that’s where the honesty lives.

Dani & Scott’s day stayed beautifully relaxed.
Plenty of time to move gently around the room,
capturing laughter, glances, and natural joy.

Flowers passed around during speeches —
full of warmth and emotion.

Huddled together — not too cold,
but definitely a little chilly.

Dani & Scott stepped into the early evening light
for relaxed portraits by the white gate,
with an orange-gold April sky behind them.

A quiet moment to frame a perfect day.

Evening Reception
— Chinese Lanterns & The First Dance

As evening settled in, the last natural light filled the rooms inside.
A few relaxed shots of new arrivals and impromptu family groupings followed —
three generations together, unprompted.

Outside, Chinese lanterns glowed above everyone,
warming the courtyard and keeping people close.

Dani & Scott’s first dance was to The White Keys —
full of joy, movement, and energy.
