Practical Questions

Should we hire a professional wedding photographer?

That depends on what matters most to you.
A professional photographer brings experience, reliability, and the ability to handle difficult light, weather, and fast-moving moments without stress.

For many couples, the value is peace of mind — knowing their day will be documented calmly and carefully, no matter what happens.

What’s your photography style?

I take a natural, documentary-style approach — blending in to quietly capture genuine moments rather than staging poses.
Expect real emotion, candid laughs, and heartfelt connections.

I do guide you gently for key portraits, ensuring those special shots look beautiful without disrupting your day.

Can we meet before the wedding?

Absolutely.
We’ll connect in person (or by video) to discuss your plans, your venue, and your vision.

It helps us both feel relaxed and aligned — and it’s a great way for you to preview photo examples and ask anything you like.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yes.
Engagement shoots are optional — they’re a relaxed time to get used to my style and help you feel confident in front of the camera.

They’re perfect for save-the-dates, invites, or just a fun pre-wedding experience.

How long have you been shooting weddings?

I’ve been photographing weddings since 2004, capturing over 500 celebrations throughout Leeds, Yorkshire, and beyond.

I’ve had the joy of creating images at venues from city-centre halls to remote distilleries and rustic barns.

Do you travel outside Leeds?

Definitely.
Based near Kirkstall Abbey, I regularly photograph weddings across West Yorkshire.

I also travel further afield — as far south as Brighton and as far north as Scotland, including intimate winter elopements at places like Glengoyne Distillery.

I’m always happy to travel nationally — just get in touch for details.

What equipment do you use?

I shoot with professional cameras, lenses, memory cards, and batteries — so no moment gets missed.

Everything I shoot is backed up in-camera to ensure your memories are safe.

Are you insured?

Yes, absolutely.
I carry public liability insurance and can provide certificates if your venue requests them.

How many photos will we receive?

For a full wedding day, expect approximately 800+ final images — covering everything from prep to party.

How It Feels to Be Photographed

What if we’re camera-shy?

You’re not alone — most couples feel this way.
I work gently and quietly, helping you forget the camera is even there.

Almost every couple tells me it felt far easier than they expected.

Will our photos feel natural?

Yes.
The focus is always on how the day felt, not how it looked on paper.

Nothing forced, nothing awkward — just honest moments as they unfold.

Do you give a lot of direction?

Very little.
I’ll step in gently when it helps — especially during portraits — but for most of the day I let things happen naturally.

That’s where the real moments live.
