Composition and Prime Lenses for Beautiful Leeds Wedding Photography

In a pursuit for photographic excellence, without compromise I use my talent and the right photography equipment to each wedding I capture in Leeds and Yorkshire. Composition comes naturally as I see what I want to photograph simply. What are Prime lenses? To explain, everyone knows what a zoom lens is, for example, 24-70mm is a typical range. A prime lens is a fixed focal length, i.e. 35mm, 40mm, 50mm, 85mm. The advantage, hands down is quality and clarity and no distortion. Zoom lenses are a compromise, I hate to compromise in any aspect of my venture as a professional Leeds wedding photographer.

What is composition? I pride myself in not having to edit or crop images. I do believe photography is an Art form. Sure you can learn the basics, but can you really learn the Art? Composition is about near perfect framing of the subject. The wedding singer below for example to me looks just right, not too close and not too far. I think I have learnt composition using prime lenses rather than zoom. Zooming in or out does not give you the same image if for example you walked closer or away from the subject or scene.

How to choose the best photographer you can trust? It’s all about what you expect from him or her. I document the day, capturing scenes, and mix this with uncomplicated group photos and couple shots that reflect personality. I’ve heard others claiming the best newest cameras are vital. My goodness, cameras from 10+ years ago are in many regards better pure cameras then the gimmick filled nonsense of todays camera tech. (not all though) There are a few exceptions in Hasselblad’s medium format, Fuji’s too are very nice. And to be honest in comparison to one of the best cameras I feel to have been made – the Canon 5DSr – the Hasselblad and Fuji are as good. The look of an image to me is so important, I have to love what I shoot for my clients.
