Gemma & Dave’s Thorpe Park Hotel, Leeds Wedding Photography — Summer City Celebrations
The summer sun shone warmly for Gemma and Dave’s July wedding at Thorpe Park Hotel & Spa in Leeds. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the day was heartfelt, relaxed, and full of personality — with their young children playing a central part in every moment.
From emotional vows to the happy chaos of little ones weaving through the celebrations, it was a wedding that truly reflected family, love, and connection. I loved capturing the natural, unposed moments that told their story so honestly.

Moments of calm before the day unfolds.
I loved how even the quietest moments held their own story.
Preparation at Thorpe Park
The morning began with a mix of calm and chaos, just as wedding mornings often do. In one corner, bridesmaids carefully laid out dresses, rings, and little details ready for the day. In another, the room was alive with chatter, laughter, and the happy bustle of children.
Gemma’s mum was close by, helping with final touches while her daughters twirled in excitement. Between quiet moments and bursts of joy, the preparations felt warm, personal, and full of family energy. It was the perfect build-up to what would become a heartfelt Leeds wedding celebration.

Even these feel tender in the morning light.
These tiny details always feel so timeless in black and white.

The day begins with laughter and calm.
Gemma’s joy was already shining through before she’d even stepped into her dress.

Every touch tells part of the story.
The smallest gestures become some of the most powerful frames.

Her smile says it all.
A simple glance in the mirror, and her excitement was written all over her face.

Little helpers by her side.
These little touches of family love were everywhere.

A small moment, full of warmth.
These everyday gestures hold all the heart in a wedding morning.

Light falling softly across the room.
I always look for these natural pauses — they anchor the whole story.

The dress holds its own promise.
A dress is never just fabric — it’s a story waiting to begin.

Simple, elegant, timeless.
Stripped of colour, the moment feels even more classic.

Whispers and giggles before the day begins.
These quiet exchanges between children always feel like pure magic.

A proud moment for a little brother.
He stood so tall — a big role on small shoulders.

Excitement in every face.
A beautiful mix of nerves, joy, and pride filled the room.

The room alive with quiet energy.
Dave’s smile gave everything away — excitement and nerves rolled into one.
The Ceremony at Thorpe Park
The ceremony room was filled with anticipation and quiet excitement. The groomsmen, dressed in sharp grey suits and bright white shoes, shared easy laughs that helped break the tension. Standing alongside his best man, Dave tried to keep calm, but his eyes said it all.
As the doors opened, Gemma walked in with her father, nerves and joy colliding as she bit her lip. The moment their eyes met, Dave’s emotion poured out — the kind of reaction that says more than words ever could.
Exchanging rings came with both laughter and tenderness, sealing the promises they’d waited for. Their first kiss wasn’t rushed; it was full of love, surrounded by family, friends, and the kind of atmosphere only real emotion can create.

Best men know when to lighten the moment.
A glance, a grin, and the nerves started to ease.

Eyes searching for the first glimpse.
You could feel the shift — the whole room holding its breath.

Emotions just starting to rise.
I love these raw moments before they see each other fully.

A mother, a bride, a moment in time.
A single glance carried all her love for them.

Smiles and tears all at once.
The whole scene felt alive — colour, laughter, and so much emotion.

Exchanging flowers, exchanging glances.
These tiny exchanges between families always stay with me.

Tears and smiles side by side.
That mix of nerves, pride, and joy — all in one frame.

Pride written in her gaze.
Weddings give permission for every kind of emotion — and Dave felt them all.

Love grounding the moment.
Sometimes, it takes just a hand to bring you back to earth.

All eyes and hearts on them.
That hush before the words begin always gives me goosebumps.

The room eases into joy.
From this moment, the nerves gave way to warmth.

Love travels through every glance.
These shared looks told the story better than any words.

Her voice steady, her moment proud.
Readings bring such intimacy to the ceremony — especially when it’s family.

Words that caught them off guard.
I love when a reading sparks unexpected smiles.

Her children’s voices carrying the day.
These are the moments that made the ceremony theirs.

Courage in every word.
Her focus and determination were beautiful to watch.

Their voices weaving into the story.
Seeing the girls step up together was such a moving sight.

Happiness in every corner.
These tears were the kind everyone hopes for — pure and full of love.

Signing the Register & A Joyful Exit
With the blinds half open, a soft, misty light filled the room as Gemma and Dave signed the register. Family and friends leaned in close, smiling, snapping photos, and soaking up the happiness of the moment. Their children joined them too, making the family portraits at this stage extra special — full of hugs, laughter, and pride.
Soon after, the couple made their way out together, leading a fun-filled exit with their best men, children, and guests following behind. There was one last kiss before stepping outside into the fresh July air, the perfect start to their married journey at Thorpe Park Hotel in Leeds.

After the Ceremony at Thorpe Park Leeds — Smiles, Gatherings, and Gentle Portraits
Once the register was signed, everyone flowed into the adjoining room — a space alive with chatter, smiles, and that first wave of post-ceremony relief. I caught Gemma and Dave sharing a quiet kiss in the middle of it all, a little pause just for them.
Outside, the sunlight gave us time for a relaxed family photo before we stepped back indoors. The bright interior made the perfect backdrop for a few more casual group shots and natural interactions. Nothing staged, just people enjoying the moment.
Before the wedding breakfast, I stole the couple away for two final portraits. Just the two of them, soaking in the calm before the celebrations began again.

The Wedding Breakfast at Thorpe Park Leeds — Stories, Speeches and Smiles
The wedding breakfast began with thoughtful little details — table settings, cake decorations, and a sweet moment as their daughter carefully buckled her shoes. Guests chatted warmly while the room filled with laughter and energy.
Gemma & Dave’s entrance was full of celebration, greeted with clapping and cheers before the speeches began. The father of the bride raised the first toast, followed by heartfelt words from Dave and plenty of fun from the best man.
I kept my focus on the real connections: hugs between friends, smiles across the tables, and those fleeting in-between moments. This is what I love most about being a documentary wedding photographer at Thorpe Park Leeds — capturing the spirit of the day as it truly unfolded.

Bridesmaids, Cake Cutting, and Golden Evening Portraits at Thorpe Park Leeds
The little bridesmaids lit up the bright hallway, sitting together on the padded seat and giggling their way through a few fun photos. Soon after, Gemma & Dave gathered around the cake, smiling, cutting, and sharing a kiss as everyone cheered.
Before the evening truly began, we stepped aside for a handful of portraits. At the foot of the grand staircase, framed by the tall doorway, and finally outside in the welcome return of the sun — each shot felt full of ease and connection.
We rounded things off with a few relaxed group photos among friends and family. No posing, no pressure, just natural moments. That’s exactly the spirit of Thorpe Park Leeds wedding photography — letting the light, the people, and the joy of the day tell its own story.
