Susie & Dan’s Wedding in Foulridge and Barley Village Hall

Susie and Dan’s late May wedding had everything — a beautiful church ceremony at St Michael and All Angels in Foulridge, a countryside backdrop for portraits, and a lively reception at Barley Village Hall.

The rain didn’t stop a thing. These two stuck to their plans, braving the Lancashire fields with big smiles and plenty of laughter. By the evening, the hall was filled with music and ceilidh dancing — the kind of night where no one wants to leave the dance floor.

As a Leeds wedding photographer, I love days like this — full of energy, personality, and those moments you’ll never forget.

Happy Guests Arriving Despite the Rain

Rain couldn’t dampen the smiles that morning. Guests arrived with umbrellas in hand, laughter spilling as the groom greeted family and friends at the church doors.

Bridesmaids waited patiently, colourful bouquets bright against the grey skies, while inside, guests gathered in the pews — all smiles, ready for the ceremony.

Among the moments I loved capturing: a baby snug in a car seat, an old film camera clutched by a guest, and the bride stepping out of the car with umbrellas held high. Her little boy, proudly wearing a driver’s cap, stretched an umbrella over her with the biggest grin.

Inside, the groom and best man sat together, their expressions telling their own story as the anticipation built.

Susie and Dan’s wedding is one I’ll always remember — proof that a little rain can’t dampen a day full of love and laughter. From their vows in Foulridge to ceilidh dancing in Barley, every part of their celebration was filled with energy and warmth.

If you’re planning your own Barley Village Hall wedding, I’d love to capture it for you. As a Leeds wedding photographer, I often travel across Lancashire and Yorkshire, documenting days just like this in a relaxed and storytelling way.

Barley Village Hall Wedding Photography

Barley Village Hall, set in the Lancashire countryside near Pendle, is such a welcoming space for weddings and celebrations. I photographed Susie & Dan’s day here, and it was the perfect backdrop for dancing, laughter, and gathering with family and friends.
